VIDEO: 3 Reasons Why You Can’t Lose Weight & Keep It Off Permanently

I’ve put together a video compilation of the most common similarities of overweight individuals that can’t seem to lose weight and keep it off. I’ve observed these patterns over the years & apply to most individuals that are constantly “yo-yoing” with their weight.

It basically comes down to three things:

  1. Fitness must become a part of your lifestyle, for the rest of your life.

  2. You have to focus on increasing your lean body mass to limit the reduction of your BMR while losing weight.

  3.  You must be able to adhere to your diet over a long period of time.

These videos should provide light to some of your concerns, and help you break the weight loss yo-yo curse once and for all.

Reason #1: Fitness must become a part of your lifestyle, for the rest of your life.

 

Reason #2: You have to focus on increasing your lean body mass to limit the reduction of your BMR while losing weight.

 

Take a look at the picture below. These are the results of a 25 pound weight loss transformation by Handlelife.

Four important columns, highlighted in green :

WT = Weight
BF% = Body Fat Percentage
LBM = Lean Body Mass
BMR = Basal Metabolic Rate

His lean body mass has increased to from 159 to 182 pounds while his total body fat dropped from 24 to 6%.

More importantly, his BMR only decreased by 120 calories. This number would’ve been MUCH higher had he only done cardio to lose all the weight.

When you focus on strength training and building muscle, this will drastically slow down the reduction of your BMR. That means you get to eat more IF you ever happen to go back to being a couch potato.

Weight lifting is the way to go. Slow down on the cardio!

 

Reason #3: You must be able to adhere to your diet over a long period of time.
